Autumns Promise

Autumn brings that special time,
Colors so bright and bold. ?
Blue skies, yet winds turn crisp;
Long nights that soon grow cold.

Cold stars that sparkle;
Halos around the moon; ?
The need to ward the wind
Snuggly, as in a cocoon.

A season to be thankful
For health, our many toys;
Always looking forward
To many Christmas joys.

Reflection for a time
On thoughts that keep us sane ?
For careful thoughts of friendship,
To forgive and not disdain.

Will friends remember me
And hold a special place
Deep in their hearts and minds?
Or gone without a trace?

Have faith in your friends,
Show them trust wont break ?
If we have treasures,
Love is there to take!

The Dark of Winter

Dismal, this season,
Gray clouds moving in;
Sunlight glows milky,
Where warmth once has been.

No leaves on the trees,
No flowers to share; ?
Loneliness comes sharp!
With no one to care.

The temperature drops;
The nights seem so cold; ?

Fresh snow on the ground,
And footsteps sound bold.

Loneliness brings thoughts
For Christmas is near; ?
Time to remember
With love and good cheer!

Now break out the rum;
No time to be blue;?
Friends are for always,
Both trusting and true.

No matter your mood,
You just have to cope;
Springtime is coming,
Renewing our hope!
