Moon Child
Moon child, heaven’s scentevanescence of one’s emotions
crying out in the dark wilderness
of bright golden days
She calls to us
to open wider
at break of dawn
as her brother calls to All
to awaken
Now is the time
there is no other
EVER
She says.
Do not be fooled by the changing
light of moon by night
nor sun by day
per say,
nor sun by night, nor moon by day
Words -
these are only words
who are you without these sounds?
STOP
for just a moment . . .
three breaths, and
LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN
Moon child, you are being called
can you hear the silence
of the Moon by day,
calling your preciousness out,
to just BE –

NOT KNOWING
Tell me something you know for sureBeyond any doubt
In absolute surety
Your life depends on it
The mind struggles to KNOW –
Raises furrowed brow
Lies awake at night
The angst to KNOW,
Understand, compare, explain
Why is life the way it is?
Evening news
Numbing the body
Touching tender heart
Arising of pain or passion
Projecting into future fears
. . . and the mind . . .
Again and again
It is relentless
In it’s exhaustive questioning
It has this incessant demand to know
Why, what for, how can it be fixed
How can we push it away
And then a remembrance arises
In that space of surrender,
Of NOT KNOWING ~
Relief resonates as grace is granted
For the KNOWING OF NOT KNOWING
The body heaves in a restful release ~
In prayerful gratitude
Of emptiness ~
Stillness
Simplicity
Serenity
Silence
Tenderly breathing the Silence
I am held in
Love ~ Gentleness ~ Peace
For NOT KNOWING ANYTHING at all ~

No Preferences
The Great Way is easier they sayfor those who have no preferences
black white
windy wet
sun storm
sunstorm
peace fear
love hate
anger kindness
compassion control
sensitive sterile
comfort pain
fallow harvest
fallowharvest
for richer or poorer
in sickness and in health
captivated by love's light
dark night of the soul
stagnant changes
met by melodious movement of motionless 'i's
fade to black
stars shine their brightest in the darkest night
no recognition of joy while in it
the "I" disappears, have you noticed?
when I, me, mine are gone,
who is there?
who will make decisions, judgments?
who will have likes, dislikes?
who will compare?
will there be a head
to rest on the soft down pillow
so enjoyed every night?
The Great Way is easier they say
for those who have no preferences.
