What is an Aura?

Each human being has a constant aura (also known as 'teja') around him, which is in continuous motion, flickering throughout the body. The aura is reflected due to the activity of the insides of our mind, it's particularly strong around people with great wisdom and exceptional qualities, and a single glance at them gives peace of mind. This radiating aura can be viewed by psychics and interpreted in many ways.

The aura is affected by our emotional, physical and mental condition. For example, the aura of a person with an illness lightens but that of a healthy person is very strong. Similarly when we are in a dejected mood the aura lightens but in happiness it grows stronger.

Parts of the Aura

The aura is divided into three subparts.

The Etheric Layer

The outermost is the etheric layer, which is energised by the energy coming from outside the earth and its atmosphere. It is our life force and the total being depends on it. When we interact with people, this part of the aura is reflected to them and to all the people around us. This is 'prana', our life sustaining force. Any work done on the surface of our body affects this part of the aura. Application of scents, creams, oils and lotions strenghtens it.

The Astral Layer

The astral layer is the middle layer of the aura. As the name suggests this part is related to stars. Through the energy in this field we are able to interpret the happenings around us and hence look out for ways to gain energy from them. The astral layer is gravely affected by our emotional condition. Regardless of the physical body, a person's thoughts and feelings are reflected to others through this portion of the aura.

The Soul Layer

The innermost layer is the Soul. This is the basic life force which is not affected by any physical, emotional or mental condition. It cannot be harmed by any hazard or injury. However it completely depends upon a persons transcendental abilities. Its the strongest of all three layers.

On the surface we see colors that have to do with moods, sudden movements, thoughts and feelings that come and go. These colours change frequently. A reading can give insight into what triggers certain emotions, fears and feelings. It can show you your personality and how people see you.

As we go a little deeper we can see stronger colors that have to do with the personality and feelings about yourself. These colours can be old or new depending on changes you have made, e.g. in personal growth, relationships, life experiences or perception changes. They can stay the same for many years or change if you get married, have a child, go through big life changes, or just change you mind, and consequently your life's pathway.

We can go deeper still and see health on all levels of consciousness - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
